Fumaça Waterfall from Bellow

General information

The experience

*This trekking is very dynamic and can be done in various ways due to multiple entrances and exits. Contact us to consult all the options.

Discover with Mamut one of the most traditional and inhospitable trails in Chapada Diamantina. The Fumaça Waterfall (one of the largest in Brazil) seen from below is a true spectacle for those who have the privilege of reaching its base. A 400-meter-high wall where the waterfall’s cascade of water cannot reach the ground uniformly, causing the effect that gives the waterfall its name.

A trail that passes through old mines and abandoned miner’s huts. A true show of history, in addition to all the views we can contemplate during the tour, we will also visit the Palmital Waterfall and Capivara Waterfall.

The trail can become considerably more dangerous due to weather and season, so always follow the instructions of your mountain guide and enjoy the spectacle that nature has to show us.

Safety at Fumaça Waterfall from Bellow

Your safety, comfort, and enjoyment are our priorities. That’s why we work with guides trained in Pre-Hospital Care (APH) and Minimum Conduct Competencies (CMC) courses following ABNT standards, with some also certified in WAFA (check availability). All guides are equipped with first aid kits for remote areas and bring extensive mountain experience. However, we emphasize that this is not a 100% safe activity, and despite all the precautions, safety measures, and responsibilities we adopt, unforeseen events and accidents may occur. As with most adventure activities in natural environments, there is an element of risk (poisonous animals, falls resulting in fractures or abrasions, storms, floods, general accidents, etc.). Mechanical breakdowns in the transport vehicle may also cause delays or changes in the trip. The chosen itinerary takes place in wild locations where rescue procedures can be delayed (taking over 5 hours to initiate rescue, not included in our reservation services). During the activity, participants must strictly follow the instructions of the agency and guides.
