About the

One of the most complete tours of Chapada Diamantina. Muritiba Park is home to several attractions, such as waterfalls, viewpoints and caves. On the traditional route, we will visit 7 of them: Serrano Natural Pools, Salão de Areias Coloridas, Poço Halley, Cachoeira da Primavera, Poço Paraíso, Mirante de Lençóis and Cachoeirinha.

In addition to the attractions, the park shows us an immense variety of geological, social and historical information about the entire Chapada Diamantina. It’s an unmissable tour.

Muritiba Park is monitored by the Lençóis Volunteer Brigade, which seeks excellence in the presentation and conservation of attractions. We make sure that our guides are also brigade members.

What we eat?

Picnic

During the walks, the picnic is equivalent to lunch. We prepare some meals trying to balance vitamins, proteins, fiber and carbohydrates.

Safety

Local Trekking guides with a lot of experience gained on courses and trips in Chapada Diamantina. In addition to security protocols that begin with serving our participants through consultation forms.

During operations we use portable radio communicators in addition to the Spot X bilateral satellite communicator with S.O.S. button. for extreme situations.

Itinerary

The itinerary may undergo changes due to weather conditions or any force majeure factor that those responsible deem important.

Muritiba Park

We can leave at any time between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm, as it is a tour that lasts between 4 and 5 hours. The trail starts from the Tourist Assistance Center (CAT), where we can already have a beautiful panorama of the route we will take. Our first stop will be in 5 minutes at the Serrano Natural Pools, where we can see conglomerates polished by the action of water, as well as wells with small refreshing waterfalls. After a 15-minute walk, we will be in the labyrinth of the Hall of Colored Sands, where the stones have undergone a process of infiltration (weathering) that makes them porous and sandy. The place is quite unique and interesting due to its geological formation.
After leaving the maze, we will continue for another 15 minutes to Poço Halley, where we can take a great bath and play with the colorful clays that exist in the area due to the igneous rocks that emerged on the edge of the well. After bathing, we will continue for 20 minutes to Cachoeira da Primavera, which is one of the tributaries of the Lençóis River, the same one we crossed in Serrano.
Our next stop will be at Poço Paraíso, another stop for a swim in shallow waters and a small waterfall. From there, we will continue for another 10 minutes to Mirante de Lençóis. There, we can see the entire city and a flat horizon that seems infinite. After 15 minutes of descent, we will arrive at Cachoeirinha. As the name suggests, it is a small waterfall with crystal clear waters that is also a tributary of the Lençóis River.

PAYMENT METHODS:

To complete your reservation, an upfront payment of 50% is required, which can be made through bank transfer, bank deposit, or boleto (Brazilian payment method). For credit card payments, there is an additional 6% charge, and you can pay in up to 12 installments, depending on the rates of PagSeguro, Mercado Pago, and similar services. The remaining 50% must be paid upon check-in in cash or via bank transfer up to 2 business days before the trekking. *It’s imperative to send the payment receipt with the confirmation of the dates, full name, and CPF (Brazilian tax ID) of the participant(s).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Conditions: In the event of passenger-initiated cancellation, in accordance with Embratur Normative Deliberation No. 161 of August 9, 1985, MAMUT TREKKING will make refunds according to the conditions below:
We reserve the right to change the planned itinerary whenever weather conditions are unfavorable for the safety of participants.
There will be no cancellation due to bad weather, and the tour will be conducted even in the case of rain or cloudy weather, except in the event of force majeure.
In the case of cancellation by the consumer, refunds will be made according to Embratur Normative Deliberation No. 161 of August 9, 1985, under the following conditions:
The customer can provide a substitute.
The customer can keep the amount as credit to participate on another date.

If neither of the above options is viable, the following percentage deductions will be applied to the total paid:
Cancellation with 30 days or more in advance: 90% of the total amount paid.
Cancellation with 21 to 29 days in advance: 80% of the total amount paid.
Cancellation with 7 to 20 days in advance: 50% of the total amount paid.
Cancellation with less than 7 days in advance: No refund.
Cancellations during packages: No reimbursement.

Change in Itinerary: Verify with the agency the conditions.

Participation and Reservation Fee: Once the reservation is confirmed, a penalty of 10% of the value of this itinerary will be charged in the event of a no-show. No-Show is defined as not showing up on the date, time, and location specified for boarding, resulting in the total loss of the amount paid. Passengers who, of their own free will, disengage from the group during the trip or change the contracted accommodation will assume any and all expenses resulting from this decision, with no right to reimbursement.

Requirements

Participants must be over 18 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Physical conditioning for steep descents and ascents on rugged terrain, crossing rivers and streams, scrambling and walking long distances. Inform of any dietary restrictions.

Responsibility Disclaimer and Activity Level Classification

Safety at Muritiba Park

Your safety, comfort, and enjoyment are our priorities. That’s why we work with guides trained in Pre-Hospital Care (APH) and Minimum Conduct Competencies (CMC) courses following ABNT standards, with some also certified in WAFA (check availability). All guides are equipped with first aid kits for remote areas and bring extensive mountain experience. However, we emphasize that this is not a 100% safe activity, and despite all the precautions, safety measures, and responsibilities we adopt, unforeseen events and accidents may occur. As with most adventure activities in natural environments, there is an element of risk (poisonous animals, falls resulting in fractures or abrasions, storms, floods, general accidents, etc.). Mechanical breakdowns in the transport vehicle may also cause delays or changes in the trip. The chosen itinerary takes place in wild locations where rescue procedures can be delayed (taking over 5 hours to initiate rescue, not included in our reservation services). During the activity, participants must strictly follow the instructions of the agency and guides. For this reason, we stress the critical importance of participants carrying all mandatory equipment listed in the checklist. Failure to bring mandatory equipment will prevent participation in the activity.
